Steve Bentsen is a Valley native, lifelong outdoor/nature enthusiast and animal lover. He attended Texas Tech and Texas A&M, receiving his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from A&M. After 4 years of practice in Kingsville, he returned to the Valley and opened Nolana Animal Hospital in McAllen, where he still practices today. Photography became a serious hobby during his college days and it was just natural for his love of photography and the outdoors to come together. In the mid 80's he began selling nature pictures to various state wildlife magazines. These sales grew to include national and international markets, agents and writing for various nature and animal-related magazines. He is actively involved in the local humane society, was a co-founder of the Valley Land Fund and still enjoys photography and South Texas as much as ever.

Laura Moore is also a Valley native with a lifelong love of the outdoors and animals. She spent much of her early life horseback and will not shoot from a blind which will not also accommodate her dogs. She attended Texas A&M, receiving a degree in horticulture, and returned to help run her family's farm until the late 90's. She joined Steve in the photography business in the early 90's and rapidly accumulated an impressive list of publications. Today her photography is mainly limited to birds and dogs.
